Biking to the Hague against new nuclear power plants
The discussion about nuclear energy has flared up again. The Dutch government looks at Borssele and the Maasvlakte to build new nuclear power plants. WISE takes action, do you join us?
With your financial support we will build resistance against these new nuclear plants.
On thursday october the 13th a commission of the house of representatives will discuss the topic nuclear energy. We will be there to make sure the anti-nuclear voices will be loudly present. That is why that morning we will bike from Borssele and the Maasvlakte to the Hague, carrying a symbolic barrel of nuclear waste. There will give this to the politicians as a reminder: first fix this problem before you continue your plans to build more nuclear power plants!
Demonstration in the Hague
The idea is that the two groups (Borssele and Maasvlakte) will arrive together in the Hague. There we want to be visibly present with many banners and flags as we present them the barrels of nuclear waste.
We are looking for people who want to bike with us. You can choose to bike from Borssele or the Maasvlakte. We are also looking for people to be present in the Hague between 13:00 and 14:00. If you want to join, please click here to register.
We are making it a sponsor trip, to be able to continue campaigning against nuclear energy. The target amount that we ask participants is to raise € 300,-. In this way we cover the costs and build up resistance to new nuclear power station.
